San Diego county is an amazing and diverse community. You can hike in Poway or go to the beach in Pacific Beach. Get a taste of city life in downtown San Diego or go horseback riding in the rural area of Bonita. San Diego County really has something for everyone. And each area has something different to offer.
Carlsbad has some pretty beaches and a lovely walkable "village". Encinitas is more of a bohemian beach neighborhood with a polished feel. Carmel Valley is a planned community that was launched in the mid 1980's. It has great schools and a short commute to nearby biotech jobs. La Jolla is more of an upscale area with a pedestrian-friendly "downtown" lined with murals. Pacific Beach is a beachy community with a laid back feel, as beach communities often do.
Hillcrest is the heart of San Diego’s LGBTQ community, with restaurants (many focusing on ethnic cuisines) and bars along University Avenue. The Gaslight Quarter is the 16-block historic downtown district that bustles with a motley crew of tourists and office workers during the week, and a party crowd after dark. East Village is a downtown neighborhood has a mix of modern high-rises, industrial warehouses, and Victorian-era homes. In the heart is Petco Park and the many restaurants and craft beer bars surrounding it. Coronado is connected to San Diego by a narrow isthmus and the iconic San Diego–Coronado Bridge. Coronado is an upscale enclave of multimillion dollar homes, the historic Hotel del Coronado resort, and various seafood and Mexican restaurants.
With so much to offer, of course, we made San Diego county our home.
